DRAGON BALL AND GOKU WERE INSPIRED BY GREAT WORKS

Dragon Ball: Reveal that Goku's hair was inspired by a classic anime

Dragon Ball is one of those series that hides several secrets, and the strange thing is that to date more and more of them continue to be revealed.

Goku has undergone several changes throughout its history, although it has always kept some characteristics intact; for example, your hair.

Surely you already imagined it, but the look of the Saiyan was not entirely devised by Akira Toriyama, but was inspired by another popular character.

Perhaps the name of Derek Padula does not sound so familiar to you, but he was in charge of writing the book Dragon Ball Culture, which collects in seven volumes several interesting facts about this work.

DRAGON BALL WAS INSPIRED BY ASTRO BOY

A few months ago the author published a tweet where he pointed out a very particular fact about Goku's hair since it is inspired by Astroboy himself.

Goku's hair was inspired by Astroboy's hair. Akira Toriyama's favorite manga as a child was Astro Boy, and in the Dragon Ball Z Full-Color interview, Toriyama said Goku's design was influenced by 'the horns' protruding from Astro Boy's head.'

According to the creator of Dragon Ball, he was not aware of this similarity at the time, but it is curious that both coincide in orientation.

This resemblance was very obvious to connoisseurs of Osamu Tezuka's work, although perhaps the new generations have not seen it that way.

We already see it everywhere.

Dragon Ball Super continues to advance its story through the manga, although the anime is still on hold and we don't know when it will return.

Now you know one more detail about Goku. It may not be useful for life, but in a geeky conversation, it could work to break the ice.
